July 21st: Life in Spite of Me: Kristen Anderson thought she had the picture perfect life until strokes of gray dimmed her outlook on life. Once a happy child, Kristen’s world darkened after three friends and her grandmother died within two years. Still reeling from these losses, she was raped by a friend she thought she could trust. She soon spiraled into a depression that didn’t seem to have an end. Then, on a cold January night at the age of 17, Kristen attempted suicide by laying down on a set of railroad tracks near her parents home. She was run over by 33 freight train cars at 50 mph, and both of her legs were severed, but miraculously, she survived!! – Read more at

Shara from Hinds Feet Adventures will be joining us on the show to talk about her ministry to women who’ve come from the prison system. Their mission is to break the cycle of recidivism among adult and youth offenders, primarily females, in El Paso County, Colorado, through a program grounded in experiential education, mental health and addictions therapy, and vocational life skills training

They have a vision to see them free from personal addictions, and mental health issues, prepared to approach life from a holistic perspective, ready to find and maintain a place in the community work force, and restored in their sense of personal dignity.

Jolene Riley from SMART (Single Moms: Accepted, Redeemed, Transformed) will be joining us this week on the Her Freedom show. SMART is an organization formed to bring hope, fellowship and encouragement to single moms. SMART helps single moms rebuild their lives from the devastation of lost relationships and provide support and connection through fellowship, mentoring, devotionals, blogs, and prayer.
